Summer as just arrived!

Finally we had beautyfull days! Perfect to the activity, and the results are very interesting. In the last days we saw a lot of animals. We just start the mounth and already got nine different species: sperm, pilot, fin and sei whales and bottlenose, commun, stripe, rissos and spotted dolphins. A lot of sharks, sun-fish, flying fish and a few turtles.
The mornings seams much better them the afternoons. More activity closer to the island.
Let's hope next days bring us more exciting adventures!

And June starts in grey!

...but with the same high level of observations.
Today, the morning was foggy and the visibility quite zero. To bad to the whale watching. The watchers got nothing to us, but as the sea is calm we decide to take the chance.
Good choice. We had sperm whales south of Vila Franca and bottlenose dolphins in Galera. In the end all the people enjoy the trip.
For the afternoon we know that we got at least bottlenose dolphins around Água d'Alto. We went straigth to the dolphins untill we the watcher in Ponta Garça anounced the sperm whales near Ribeira Quente.
There's the entire family in the area. Males, females and, as usual, a lot of calfs. Super.

Statistics of May 08

May... ends in beauty!

The end of May was perfect concerning the whale watching activitie. We had spectacular days with a lot of whales, not only the resident sperm whale, but with fin and sei whales. And of course, with the friendly dolphins: bottlenose and common.
It seams the weather is changing and we can smell summer time. We had the good new that the atlantic spotted dolphins are already among us to the season. Welcome!
