September 2009 sighting statistics


During our whale watching tours in September we encountered 10 different cetacean species (3 whale species and 7 dolphin species). As is often the case, the resident common dolphin was the species most encountered, in fact they were seen on 100% of the days that we went to sea. The most encountered whale species was the sperm whale, another one of our resident species. Sighting frequencies of all species can be seen in the graph above. Common names of all species are listed below:
