Sperm whales in São Miguel! And sei and minke whales.

After a long absence from our waters a group of sperm whales finally returned to the area today. After a bit of waiting and patience we got to see three individuals - a mother with a juvenile followed by a single adult. The group was making deep dives, which meant that we got to see two fantastic tails as they went down. As well as the sperm whales we also encountered a sei whale (our first for this year) and we had a brief encouter with a minke whale.

Not a bad start to April considering we have already seen 7 different species in the first two days.
