This morning we went out for the search of whales and dolphins off São Miguel Island. The visibility was not good which made it really difficult for our coastal lookout to spot the animals for us. We went offshore and searched different areas but didn't find anything out in the deeper waters, but closer to shore we did find a nice group of Atlantic spotted dolphins. These dolphins were very active and we got to see a lot of mating activity and also a tiny newborn baby repeatedly leaping high out of the water - absolutely adorable! Among the dolphins we also spotted a loggerhead turtle slapping its fins on the water. Even when the conditions are not the best there is always something out the in the waters of the Azores.
