Finally we had the chance to see a full performance of a Humpback whale in S. Miguel island. What a show!
After 3 years without sigths of this specie we are compensate with this beautiful animal.
the animal was just a few miles south of ponta delgada.
That´s whale watching for real.

Good surprise! We steel observed spotted dolphins in february. Unbelievable!
We had 7 species and once again a little surprise with the earliest baleen whales of the season, fin whales!
Was a good month with a uncommon fine weather.

The numbers are regular for this month. The difference is that for the first time we had spotted dolphins in January.

That´s true! Here in Futurismo we never stop! Well....except on the 25 of december.
We are on the sea again. The weather, despite the winter time, is very god. We have been out for 8 times and with success.
Untill now we observe sperm whales, common, bottlenose, risso´s and atlantic spotted dolphins.
It was a half surprise with the spotted dolphins, because we saw then on the 31 of december, but the fact is, for the first time ever, we observe this seasonal specie in january. And it´s a very large school with hundreds of small babies. It´s probably the reason they are still around.

During 2008 we had fabulous and unforgetable moments of whale watching thanks to the 17 species of cetaceans observed: common, bottlenose, atlantic spotted, risso´s and striped dolphins, pilot and false killer whales, sperm, blue, fin, sei, bryde, minke, north atlantic bottlenose, cuvier, true and sowerby beaked whales.
For the sea lover´s, of course, there are other species like the whale shark, hammer head, manta ray, sunfish and the flyinfish.
Was a god year, but the most import for all, was the fact that we had the pleasure to share this wonderfull world with a lot of people.
Thank you very much for been with us.

Once again we had observed 6 species of cetaceans.
The residents: sperm whale, common, bottlenose and risso´s dolphins. The seasonal atlantic spotted dolphins (on the last day of the year for the first time) and the pilot whales.

November was a strange month! The first days we had very good weather and nice sigths, then change to a windy and grey days with a lot of cancelation. Last days was nice and calm.
The observations reflect exactly that. We had five species: sperm whales, common, bottlenose, risso´s and atlantic spotted dolphins. The usual!

The month of October brings us a nice summer time with charming weather and of course, a lot of animals. Eighth species of cetaceans (sperm, minke, bryde and pilot whales pilot and common, bottle nose, spotted and risso’s dolphins) have been observed and, once again, the gentle whale shark. It was good!

Five is good!

...but six is much better!
This month as been a nice surprise, talking about the weather. Cant be better. Like summer with flat sea, sun and warm days and...a lot of species.
During the last days we have been with 3 or 4 species: sperm whales, bottlenose, atlantic spotted and common dolphins but today was a marvelous day.
In the morning trip we start with the resident common and bottlenose dolphins, closer to the shore and them a little far out we found pilot whales. But in the midle we saw a diferent finn, a minke whale, the first of the season. Was great.
For the afternoon the watcher told us about the dolphins the species observed in the morning. No whales. When we are with the common dolphins, a very large group with more them 200 dolphins, the watcher announced the sperm whales.
We left the area and start moving for the whales. Midle of the way one boat saw a whale shark. Stop for all. swim with the gentle animal. A must. Finally the sperm whales and a lot of happy people.

In the end of last month we received a nice costumer from Norway to swim with dolphins, she's celebrating her birthday. Eva Damhaug, makes several trips with us and decide to share her photos with us.

Seams the number of the moment! Today we had another glorious day of whale watcing with the same five species we saw yesterday. The weather was fine, sun. high visibility and a fabulous blue ocean. With those conditions everithing seams easy.
And the publicity to the activitie too!

...species in the same trip! Today we had a "whale of a day" on the ocean. We saw five species of cetaceans: common, spotted and bottlenose dolphins, pilot and sperm whales. The weather seams like summer, warm and calm.
A long of the day we have been with hundreds of atlantic spotted dolphins making the joy of ours passengers. And, of course, the whales to make it really special.
Let's hope october keep's bringing us so many animals and happinesslike today!

The champs are: the common dolphins and the atlantic spotted dolphins. On the whales side the sperm whales leades the statistics.

...and left us with nice memories of whales and dolphins. This month we have been with 8 different species of cetaceans: common, atlantic spotted, bottlenose, rissos and striped dolphins and sperm, sei and bryde's whales.
The weather was always a little inconstant, the wind blowing most of the time from northeast and fresh. The summer gone away very quickly.We have been with some whale sharks too. The best to swim with!
